I ran across the video posted by Arrrmatey on Utube by accident. I have never been so shocked in my life. I have been thru vietnam, 3 x wifes and numerous firearms accidents but nothing has shaken me down to the core like this video. If this monument is to fall, we all lose. Its the end of america as we know it. I'm not going to let it happen. If they tear it down, I swear by the name of Jesus Christ that I will rebuild it in the same place, everytime they take it down.
I have contacted Congressman Jerry Lewis about having the plywood removed for Easter Services this April 12, 2009. I have not heard back from him or his office as yet.
Unless I hear from others, I plan on holding a Easter Sunrise Service this year at Mojave Cross. If the plywood is covering the cross, I plan to remove it for the services.
Civil disobedience is one of the many ways people have rebelled against unfair laws. In seeking an active form of civil disobedience, one may choose to deliberately break certain laws, such as by forming a peaceful blockade or occupying a facility illegally. Protesters practice this non-violent form of civil disorder with the expectation that they will be arrested, or even attacked or beaten by the authorities. Protesters often undergo training in advance on how to react to arrest or to attack, so that they will do so in a manner that quietly or limply resists without threatening the authorities.
Sometimes you just have to stand up and do the right thing. Even if it isn't legal or popular.
